Here are a few handy charts you can use for testing the focus resolution of lenses, and calibrating the colour of your camera footage.
Print them out as big as you can, at least 300 dpi, on the best printer you can find.
Obviously colour charts are unlikely to reproduce faithfully unless you have access to high end printing hardware. If you want to really get into testing, I heartily recommend a visit to the IMATEST website – they are way ahead of the curve when it comes to this sort of thing, and they can even create custom charts to your specific needs.
